For 16 Years, Loving Hands Has Provided Support for Grieving Mothers Before Mother's Day

The Watts-based nonprofit organization will host its 16th annual Mother's Day Healing Luncheon on May 6, the weekend before Mother's Day.

Losing a child is an unimaginable grief. That's why the Mother's Day Healing Luncheon seeks to comfort these mothers with an uplifting communal space to grieve, reflect, heal, and support one another in the days leading up to a difficult holiday weekend. For the past 16 years, this luncheon has served as a reminder to mothers and their family members that they are never alone.

This year, the luncheon will explore the meaning of self-care and leave attendees with actionable tools to incorporate intellectual, emotional, and physical self-care practices into their everyday lives. The day's programming will include first-of-its-kind healing hubs that provide resources and outlets for grief, motivational speakers, artistic activities and performances, and raffles.
