Preserving and Forging Trails

New England Mountain Bike Association

Founded in 1987, New England Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA) oversees 34 chapters across the region, representing more than 10,000 members and almost 1,000 riding areas. Every year, NEMBA volunteers organize hundreds of trail-care events, host more than 500 recreational rides, and stage mountain bike festivals throughout New England. In addition, the organization publishes SingleTracks magazine and offers Trail School, a trail building and maintenance course in which riders, trail enthusiasts, and land stewards learn to design, build, and care for sustainable bike trails. Through all of its programming and services, NEMBA promotes mountain biking as a joyful, healthy pastime and works to ensure a bright future for the sport.
