USC Annenberg School and GRoW @ Annenberg Partner to Support Diversity in Newsrooms

Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California names the third recipient of the GRoW @ Annenberg Scholarship.

Recognizing the need to advance diverse representation in newsrooms, GRoW has committed to multi-year scholarships to fully underwrite the cost for Black journalists to pursue graduate degrees at USC's Annenberg School. Now in its third year, the GRoW @ Annenberg scholarship program, initiated by GRoW founder Gregory Annenberg Weingarten, is delighted to welcome and congratulate Kyle Penix, this year's recipient. Penix earned his undergraduate degree in media and cultural studies from UC Riverside and is currently pursuing a master's degree in journalism at USC's Annenberg School.
