LA Opera's Returns to Stage for First Time in 18 Months ith Il Trovatore

Music and live performance light up the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion stage once again as the LA Opera begins the 2021-22 season on September 18 with an in-person audience.

Since 1986, LA Opera has devoted itself to preserving and presenting this quintessential musical art form to contribute to the diverse landscape of the Los Angeles creative community. After closing its doors for a year and a half because of the pandemic, the LA Opera, led by music director James Conlon, kicks off the new season with Giuseppe Verdi's Il Trovatore, a quintessential thriller filled with fiery love, family quarrels, and deadly revenge.

Throughout this season, the LA Opera — which welcomes new board chair Keith Leonard — aims to provide a cathartic experience and a place of solace for the community as we seek inspiration and healing during the COVID-19 pandemic. "GRoW is honored to be an enthusiastic supporter of the LA Opera over the years," says LA Opera board member Regina Weingarten, "and we are thrilled to welcome people back to 'Join Our Song.'" See for yourself in this moving video short narrated by Oscar-nominated actress Angela Bassett.
