Documenting the Life and Legacy of Civil Rights Activist Reverend James M. Lawson Jr.

GRoW is honored to support the production of a documentary film that will explore the Methodist minister's extensive career and pivotal advocacy of nonviolent resistance in the civil rights movement.

Through interviews with Reverend Lawson and insights from family members and fellow activists, this documentary analyzes the man whom Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. referred to as "the leading theorist and strategist of nonviolence in the world." Beyond illuminating his impact on the field of nonviolent direct action, the film explores the future of social movement building. The International Documentary Association is serving as a fiscal sponsor of the film. To learn more, click here.
