International Jazz Day joins together communities in more than 190 countries, plus every state in the U.S. This global event reaches more than 2 billion people annually, featuring virtual and in-person events, activities, and performances promoting the revered art form. International Jazz Day is chaired and led by UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay and legendary jazz pianist/composer Herbie Hancock, who serves as a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Intercultural Dialogue and chairman of the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz.
