April 30: The World Celebrates International Jazz Day

On April 30, the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz will partner with the United Nations and UNESCO to celebrate the 10th International Jazz Day worldwide celebration, highlighting and recognizing jazz and the universal role it plays in uniting global communities.

International Jazz Day is a culminating event bringing together communities in over 190 countries and every state across the U.S. This global event reaches over two billion people annually, providing participants with programming through a host of virtual and in-person events, activities, and performances promoting the revered art form of jazz. International Jazz Day is chaired and led by UNESCO Director General Audrey Azoulay and legendary jazz pianist and composer Herbie Hancock, who serves as a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for Intercultural Dialogue and is Chairman of the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz. GRoW is honored to be a proud sponsor and supporter of this global celebration.
