Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra Partners with Equal Justice Initiative Founder for Social Justice-Themed Concert

Led by legendary trumpeter and artistic director Wynton Marsalis, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra will present Freedom, Justice, and Hope with Bryan Stevenson on May 21.

The largest performing arts organization in the world dedicated to jazz will kick off its spring 2021 virtual concert season with performances by emerging musical artists that highlight themes of freedom, justice, and hope. This collaboration between Wynton Marsalis and Equal Justice Initiative founder and social justice activist Bryan Stevenson — who will appear as a guest performer — is a sequel of sorts to last year's virtual conversation in which Marsalis and Stevenson discussed the historical significance and the value of art in history. GRoW was honored to support the duo's 2020 conversation as well as this year's collaboration.
