The Paris Opera & Ballet Moves Gala Reve d'Enfants to April

The annual holiday event raises funds for arts education benefitting underprivileged children in the French capital.

Every December, in a tradition that dates back to 1985, the Paris Opera invites 500 underserved youth from local social centers and shelters to experience Gala Reve d'Enfants, a celebration of classical holiday ballets. Given the ongoing spread of COVID-19, Gala Reve d'Enfants could not take place this past December, and the event was shifted to the spring.

The Gala's proceeds support the educational program Dix Mois d'École et d'Opera (or Ten Months of School and Opera), which is run by the Academy of the Paris Opera and Ballet. Created almost 30 years ago, Dix Mois d'École et d'Opera provides more than 1,000 underserved students with the opportunity to: study costumes, dance, music, song, and stage craft; enjoy backstage tours; attend dress rehearsals; and meet with artists. GRoW has been a major supporter of this program for almost 20 years.
