Statue of Liberty Museum Opens to Public

The 26,000-square-foot addition to New York City's Liberty Island contains three galleries celebrating Lady Liberty's impact and legacy — and GRoW is supporting the Engagement Gallery.

The museum provides interactive, educational, and inspiring experiences for the 4 million visitors who visit the Statue of Liberty each year. The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Foundation — working with its public partner, the National Park Service — funded the project.

A gift from France to the United States to celebrate the centennial of the Declaration of the Independence and the friendly relationship between the two countries, the Statue of Liberty was dedicated in 1886 and designated as a national monument in 1924.
