LA Opera Presents Rigoletto

Verdi's tragic masterpiece can be experienced from May 12 to June 3 at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in downtown Los Angeles.

One of Giuseppe Verdi's most revered works, this 19th-century Italian opera is a tragic tale of revenge and sacrifice centering on hunchback court jester Rigoletto, daughter Gilda, and the lascivious Duke of Mantua.

Conducted by LA Opera artist-in-residence Matthew Aucoin, this production boasts staging by Tony-winning artistic director Mark Lamos and features Juan Jesus Rodriguez, Lisette Oropesa, and Arturo Chacon Cruz as Rigoletto, Gilda, and the Duke, respectively. (Ambrogio Maestri, Adela Zaharia, and Michael Fabiano assume the aforementioned roles from May 27 to June 3.) In conjunction with this staging of Rigoletto, GRoW is honored to be part of LA Opera's poster design contest for Southern California college students.
