LA Opera Presents Pelléas & Mélisande

A beguiling interpretation of Debussy's love-triangle opera can be experienced at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion from March 25 to April 16.

Pelléas and Mélisande is an enigmatic tale of hidden longing, lingering suspicion, and forbidden love. Lost in the forest, Prince Golaud encounters Mélisande, an ethereal beauty with a mysterious past. After Mélisande is brought home to the prince's family, she begins to grow increasingly close to his handsome younger brother, Pelléas.

This hopelessly melancholic production composed by Claude Debussy is brought to life by LA Opera's masterful conductor, James Conlon, and stars two riveting young performers, soprano Sydney Mancasola and baritone Will Liverman, as the doomed lovers, and Kyle Ketelsen as the jealous prince. The magnificent Susan Graham makes her debut as Geneviève, mother of the two rival brothers, and the legendary bass Ferruccio Furlanetto returns as King Arkel, the family patriarch unable to grasp the tragedy unfolding before him.

GRoW is delighted to support another LA Opera production.
