Met Opera's Saturday Matinee Radio Broadcasts, a Long and Thrilling Tradition

Since 1931, the Saturday Matinee Radio Broadcasts series has delighted audiences with full opera performances transmitted live from the stage at the Met in New York City. To date, there have been 1,800 Met broadcasts of nearly 200 different operas. The 2022-23 season, which runs through June 10, does not disappoint, with a range of classic operas sure to please the most devoted supporter. Broadcast globally, the weekly series has been honored with dozens of awards for excellence in broadcasting, including several Peabodys, radio's top honor.
