Connecting People and Ideas through Conversations and Cultural Exchange

Zócalo Public Square

Founded in Los Angeles in 2003, Zócalo Public Square connects people to ideas and each other by examining essential questions in an accessible, broad-minded, and democratic spirit. Zócalo's mission to create a welcoming intellectual space and engage a new and diverse generation in the public square is critical in today's social and political climate, where our public sphere and global digital conversations have become increasingly polarizing. In 2022, Zócalo stories were syndicated in 290 media outlets worldwide. Since its founding, Zócalo has hosted more than 650 events in 33 cities across the globe, frequently partnering with educational, cultural, and philanthropic institutions and public agencies.
