Advancing Equity for Communities of Color

Asian Americans Advancing Justice Southern California (AJSOCAL)

Asian Americans Advancing Justice Southern California (AJSOCAL) serves more than 15,000 individuals each year through its legal services, which include anti-Asian discrimination efforts as urgent priorities. For its diverse AANHPI communities, the organization provides impact litigation, policy advocacy, leadership development, and capacity-building support.

Founded in 1983, the legal aid and advocacy organization has been a leader in social justice and continues to be a strong voice for Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities. Based in Los Angeles and with additional California offices in Anaheim and Sacramento, AJSOCAL prioritizes services for under-resourced individuals who speak limited or no English as well as immigrants who require aid for anti-Asian discrimination, citizenship and immigration issues, domestic violence and family law, housing rights support, healthcare navigation, and education. Through this work, AJSOCAL protects the rights of communities of color, builds multiracial coalitions, and works to shape a more equitable American society.
