President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama established the Obama Foundation in 2014, while he was serving his second term in the White House. The foundation runs initiatives that champion leadership, equity, education, and opportunity, including My Brother's Keeper Alliance, the Obama Foundation Fellowship, Girls Opportunity Alliance, Leaders: Africa, Community Leadership Corps, the Obama Foundation Scholars Program, and Community Leadership Training Day. Further, the organization hosts an annual Summit, which convenes leaders from across the United States and the globe to collaboratively explore solutions to some of the world's greatest challenges. Located on Chicago's South Side next to the site of the Obama Presidential Center, the Obama Foundation seeks to carry on the city's powerful legacy of powerful community leadership and engagement.
