The King's Foundation was formally established in 2018 as the Prince's Foundation through the merging of the Prince's Foundation for Building Community, the Prince's Regeneration Trust, the Great Steward of Scotland's Dumfries House Trust, and the Prince's School of Traditional Arts.
Today, the organization operates through three core tiers of work. First, the foundation offers to learners of all ages more than 30 educational programs across a diverse range of thematic areas, including the arts, architecture and design, science, engineering, hospitality, and horticulture. The second pillar of work, "practice," works with global communities and partners to foster sustainable building practices and everyday habits. The third sector — known as "places" — invites visitors to experience renovated historic locations and newly created spaces, including Dumfries House, Rothesay Rooms, Castle and Gardens of Mey, the Tamar Manoukian New Cumnock Pool, and Carriage at Ballater. Through this multi-tiered approach, the King's Foundation embodies King Charles' visionary spirit and seeks out holistic solutions to challenges facing residents of the United Kingdom and far beyond.
