National Museum of the American Indian

The National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) seeks to elevate the histories, stories, and cultures of past and contemporary Native communities across the Western Hemisphere. The NMAI includes three facilities: the museum on Washington D.C.'s National Mall, the George Gustav Heye Center in New York City, and the Cultural Resources Center in Maryland. These three facilities offer a vast range of galleries, performances, educational programming, research, and conservation and repatriation programs. Off-site, the NMA's outreach initiatives include websites, touring exhibitions, and community programming. 

In 2016, GRoW founder Gregory Annenberg Weingarten (pictured left with NMAI director Kevin Gover) was honored by the NMAI with the Innovative Partnership in Repatriation Award for "his instrumental role in the purchase of 24 sacred American Indian objects from a Parisian auction house with the express purpose of repatriating them to the Hopi and Apache Nations."
