To honor van Gogh's legacy, the Van Gogh Museum opened in 1973, offering a closer and meticulously curated examination of his life and work. Attracting approximately 1.5 million visitors each year, the museum boasts the world's largest collection of his art in the world, featuring more than 200 paintings, 500 drawings, and 750 letters. The museum also presents exhibitions of 19th-century art created by his friends, peers, and others whom he influenced.
