Orfeó Català-Palau de la Música Catalana

The Orfeó Català, or Catalan Choral Society, is a choral association that traces its roots to a vocational organization founded in 1891. Between 1905 and 1908, the Orfeó Catalá supported the construction of the Palau de la Música Catalana in Barcelona, Spain, the auditorium that serves as the Orfeó Català's home to this day. One of Catalonia's essential cultural and architectural jewels, the Palau de la Música Catalana is the only concert venue of the Catalan Art Nouveau style classified as an UNESCO World Heritage Site. Together, the Orfeó Català and Palau de la Música Catalana are symbols of a rich, enduring cultural and musical heritage.

The institution aims to promote this heritage, with a specific focus on choral tradition, through comprehensive concert performance and musical education programs. The Orfeó Català often collaborates with local orchestra ensembles to showcase its diverse repertoire. Further, the association's Escola Coral is a youth academy that offers intensive choral and musical training to children beginning at age 6. Over the years, the Orfeó Català and the Palau de la Música Catalana have remained culturally and artistically important for both the people of Catalonia and international patrons.
