Festival Lyrique International de Belle-Ile-En-Mer

Belle-Ile (or "beautiful island") is the largest island off France's Brittany coast and was once home to an artist colony where Claude Monet and John Russell resided in the 1800s. Every year since 1998, the island has welcomed esteemed musicians and dedicated patrons from across the globe to experience the Festival Lyrique International de Belle-Ile-En-Mer. The festival's impressive concerts showcase world-renowned opera composers and performers, and they have featured performances from the Royal Opera House, Paris Opera, Metropolitan Opera, and La Scala in Milan, among others. In addition, Lyrique-En-Mer partners with local schools in Belle-Ile to host year-round concerts and music education programming.
