Cornerstone Theater Company

The Cornerstone Theater Company began in 1986 as a traveling ensemble before settling in Los Angeles in 1992. Since then, it has commissioned more than 100 award-winning playwrights and produced 150-plus new plays. Through collaboration with professional artists and fresh voices, the company translates the stories and issues of a given community and produces fully staged productions in spaces around L.A. and nationwide. The company strives to reach audiences that are not typical theatergoers. It also operates an institute with educational programming that includes a summer residency, a two-day intensive course, and a semester-long traveling program.
